The Site

The driveway will take you directly from the main road down to the farm courtyard. There is a 5mph speed limit along our driveway and on site. The driveway is gravel, while the majority of the farm courtyard and campsite driveway is concrete. Please note that the Farm Lodge by the entrance is nothing to do with Platt's Farm Campsite. Following the driveway through the courtyard, the Reception is clearly signposted. There is a hardstanding car park on the Coed field and one grass parking area behind reception by the Afon field. A map of the site can be found on the Reception door.

Gates to the farmyard are open during the day and closed from 10pm in the evening. The gates do not get locked. However, if the gate is closed, please ensure you close the gate behind you when driving through. Pedestrian access is through the same gate on the driveway.

All our grass pitches are for tents and are mostly level. A few have a slight slopes in places. Pitches on the Coed field are situated around the edge of the field as this is the best place for tent pegs. The Afon field has 4 pitches placed around the edge of the field. You will be directed to your pitch upon arrival either in person, or via the pitch allocation notice and map on the reception door. Parking is not allowed on the grass pitches to ensure the ground remains good quality, to ensure guest safety and to avoid anyone getting stuck.

The toilet block is has several steps leading to it. It is lit up at night and the lights in the cubicles work on a movement sensor.

The showers are in a separate building sited on the Coed field. There is level access across grass and paved area to this block. There is an outside light that will be on automatically at night, and the lights in the shower rooms are on a sensor. There is heating available in the shower rooms. Press a button above the showers for heat. They will switch off automatically. Showers are electric showers. You do not need coins to operate them.

We do not have disabled washroom facilities at this time due to the nature of the site. If you have any access queries, we will be happy to assist. Please contact us on 01248 680105.

There is limited lighting on the main walkway through to the campsite from the driveway. The campsite does not have any lighting so that guests can enjoy the stars. There is lighting available in the barns for those who have booked exclusive use of the field or site and paid for electric.

Fire points are clearly marked and are available on each camping field. There is a selection of recycling bins available along with a general waste bin. There is also a wheelbarrow situated in the refuse area for disposal of ash and BBQ charcoal waste. The fire assembly point is on the main driveway beyond the farm buidings. The driveway must be kept clear at all times.

Drinking water is available from the washing up sinks on the Coed field and is clearly marked.

We operate on a septic tank system on site (including the bunkhouse) so please do not dispose of any chemicals in our drains while on site. Washing up liquid and handwash are provided.

Dogs are very welcome and we have a field where they can be walked. Dog bags are available in reception and can be disposed of in the large general waste bin on site. We do require dogs to be kept on a lead at all times when on site to ensure the safety and wellbeing of other guests and our animals.

Some areas of the walled garden are uneven and have rabbit holes. Please take extra care when enjoying these spaces.

The bunkhouse is situated opposite Reception. Guests will be given a door code to access the property and a key for the available room. All rooms are on the ground floor. There is a fire alarm in the property along with fire extinguishers. There is a switch for the outside light in the hallway of the bunkhouse. Parking is available opposite the door to the Bunkhouse.

Emergency numbers for doctor/dentist/vet/taxi are available to view on the display board by the washing up sinks. In case of emergency, call 999. We live on site so are available to help whenever possible. Our contact numbers are displayed on the reception door. There is a defibrillator on the outside of the Town Hall (Community Centre) on Village Road.

Mobile telephone coverage is mixed, 3 and EE have the best reception. At this time we are not able to offer wifi to our guests, however, the café’s in Llanfairfechan do offer free wifi.

Eco Statement

Platt's Farm Holidays Ltd Eco Statement

We at Platt’s Farm love the environment we live in. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains and
fantastic beaches. We wish to do all we can to preserve it and conduct our business with as little impact as
possible. We hope you are able to assist us in this quest when you stay with us.
We urge guests to take all camping equipment home with you at the end of your stay. However, should
you wish to re-cycle unwanted small tents, we can pass them on to local homeless charities for re-use.
Please do not clog up the general waste bin and ultimately landfill with items that can be used by others.
We endeavour to use as little plastic material as possible, and we would encourage our guests to do the
same. Let’s work together to keep our marine environments free of plastic items!

Responsible Camping

We pride ourselves on using environmentally friendly cleaning products throughout our site. We provide handwash and washing up liquid for guests
to use.

We have provided comprehensive recycling facilities on site for guests to use. We therefore urge all guests to recycle as much as possible when staying with us.

We do have a ‘no noise after 10pm’ policy to ensure guests are not disturbed, and also to create minimal impact on nocturnal creatures. Listen out for our resident owls and spot thebats flying around the buildings !

In order to minimise impact on the environment, we only have lighting around the washroom facilities and washing up areas. Enjoy the vast expanse of stars!
